Deploying a chronic disease management platform to help a European pharmaceutical company deliver more value to their customers.
In a nutshell …
A pharmaceutical company focusing on diabetes medicines sought to maintain a meaningful connection with its product users and gather essential data for product efficacy, usage, and innovation. Collaborating with MiyaHealth, we successfully designed a tailored chronic disease management platform empowering customers to manage diabetes effectively while fostering continuous engagement for valuable insights to enhance product development, pricing, and distribution strategies.
The client was facing the following key challenges:
• Relatively undifferentiated product
• Little to no customer engagement touchpoints to monitor the effectiveness of their products and learn how to better help patients especially in adhering to care protocols and changes in patient’s lifestyle/health status.
• Little to no opportunities for data capture to inform future product developments.
We developed a customized version of MiyaPatient and MiyaAvatar for chronic disease management according to the client’s use-cases (medical conversations, compatible devices, etc). The mobile application was also designed using the client’s branding and even localized in Polish.
The client chose MiyaHealth as we provided the highest degree of customization, a unique, differentiating feature of proactive engagement and monitoring for patients, and a regulatory moat that offers the client a competitive advantage.
We developed the following key features & capabilities of MiyaPatient to meet the client’s objectives:
• Personalized, interactive self-care modules for diabetes and recommendations around diabetic control based on physician’s guidelines.
• Proactive engagement around newly prescribed medication, check-ins, assessment of diabetic control.
• Proactive monitoring for side-effects & glucose levels.
• Triage, Navigation, and Emergency assistance.
• Granular data collection across numerous touchpoints to inform product development.
The platform drove improved engagement with patients, allowed the client to gather valuable insights on patient behavior to inform future R&D and commercial strategies, and helped differentiate the company from competitors. the The client also realized that the age range of patients using digital technology was wider than expected, with the oldest user of the platform being 82 years old!
